Have you ever imagined how will you die? I was, and still am, very afraid of facing death.
Then I used this set of self-portraits to dissolvee the seriouness of death, depicting it in everyday and surreal ways.
The characters in this work, all of them are me and none of them are the actual me, they have their own stories and experiences.
I try to tell a character’s story with specific settings and contexts that make death seem like more than a momentary action, but traceable and potentially reflecting someone’s whole life.
My tutor gave me a comment which I really like, Carmen holds the fear of death at bay with irreverent stagings of flamboyant ends.
